Isiguzo, who addressed Journalists on Thursday at the National Secretariat of the union in Abuja, decried the high level of debts profile left for his team by the immediate past president. Though, he said his administration will not probe his predecessor, but insisted that the National Executive Council (NEC) will invite him (Odusile) to explain how he came about the #23million debts.

As part of fulfilling his campaign promises, Isiguzo has promise to hit the ground running in the areas of regular payments of the union staff salaries.

He also assured that within a space of time his team will transform the union financial status, eliminate quacks in the profession as well as training and re-training of journalists, both locally and internationally.

The ‘workaholic’ president as he is fondly called by his admirers said, he would establish a Stabilization Funds to help stabilize the media industry.

According to him, discipline in all strata of the union will be enforcing to the later. Henceforth, he said, “Welfare of Journalists shall be our main goal.” In additional, he promised to replicate his ICT exploit at Zone C as the zonal vice president in all councils across the country.

Never the less, the president has assured that his administration will restructure the International Institute of Journalism IIJ to become a viable source of income for the union.
