NASS Clerk, Sani Omolori
By Corereporters
Clerk of the National Assembly, Sani Omolori, has urged staffer of the National Assembly to disregard the information flying around that he and 1490 others have been sack by the National Assembly Service Commission.
Omolori said his continued stay in office is backed by law and cannot be voided by the National Assembly Service Commission.
Meanwhile, NASC had in a statement by its Executive Chairman, Ahmed Amshi, on Wednesday approved the immediate retirement of Omolori and 149 others.
But in a swift response, the office of the Clerk in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday said, the commission does not have the powers to set aside the revised condition of service passed by the previous assembly.
He therefore directed all staff of the legislative chamber that the commission asked to proceed on retirement to disregard the directive and go about their lawful duties.
