Gov. Otu Constitutes 11-man Enforcement Team for Planning and Development Control
In a bid to strengthen urban orderliness and ensure strict adherence to approved physical planning standards, Cross River State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Bassey Edet Otu, has approved the constitution of an Enforcement Team for Planning and Development Control.
Chief Press Secretary/Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mr Linus Obogo, in a statement on Thursday said the team is tasked with enforcing all extant planning laws, monitoring ongoing and completed developments, and curbing illegal structures and encroachments across the State.
The eleven-member team comprises the folowing:
(1) Mr. Akiba Ekpenyong Akiba -Chairman
(2) Mr. Emmanuel Okon Ansa as Secretary
(3) Mr. Umo Antigha Etim -Member
(4) Sandy Erim Inyang -Member
(5) Felix Archibong Edet -Member
(6) Mr. Clement Effiong Essien -Member
(7) Christopher William -Member
(8) Surv. Dr. Echeng Isaac -Member
(9) Mr. Collins Eko -Member
(10) Augustine Edung -Member
(11) Hon. Otu lbor Obeten -Member
They are mandated to ensure full compliance with planning approvals, undertake field operations, and recommend remedial measures where necessary.
The constitution of this team underscores the Otu-led administration’s commitment to sustainable urban growth, environmental aesthetics, and the realization of the People First agenda through disciplined, well-coordinated spatial development.
