Ahead of the task of repositioning Nigeria and in appreciation with the noble job media personnel, the Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, His Grace Most Rev Dr Ignatius Kaigama will on Sunday, May 16, 2021, offers a special Mass for all media personnel in Abuja and its environs.
The church has decided to celebrate the 2021 World Communications Day with media personnel in order to bless the tools that they have been using in holding the government accountable for its deals.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, as part of activities to mark this very important day, His Grace Most Rev Dr Ignatius Kaigama, Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja will be hosting a press briefing on Friday, May 7, 2021, to herald World Communications Day.
According to the statement, “The 2021 World Communications Day, is on Sunday, May 16. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Come and See”: Communicating, Encountering people where they are.
“His Grace Most Rev Dr Ignatius Kaigama, Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja on May 7, 2021, will brief the press in Cardinal Ekandem Hall, Pro-Cathedral Area 3, Garki, Abuja, at 11 am.
“He will also offer a Special Holy Mass for Media personnel on Sunday, May 16, 2021, in Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Pro-Cathedral Area 3 Garki Abuja, at 10 am.
“Broadcasters and Journalists are invited to the Press Briefing and also bring along their working tools to the Special Communicators Holy Mass, where they will receive special blessings and celebrate this day that has been set aside to appreciate the media for standing for the truth, through the instruments of information, Education and Entertainment,” the statement reads.
New National Star reports that It will also be a forum where media professionals from different generations will interact on how best they can use the media to reach people ‘as they are and where they are especially at these times of social distancing due to the pandemic.
