TCN Benin Sub-Region Equips With Spare 330/132kV Equipment

Benin (Core Reporters) – The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Benin Sub-Region, has received a truckload of equipment spares and maintenance materials from the TCN Project Monitoring Unit (PMU), Abuja, to strengthen maintenance operations and improve the reliability of the transmission network.
The consignment was delivered on Monday, November 2, 2026, and comprises 330kV and 132kV tripping coils, rapid pressure relays, current transformer (CT) ratio clamps, gantry structures and porcelain insulators.
The materials have been offloaded and securely stored at the sub-region’s warehouse, pending deployment to support routine and emergency maintenance activities.
The intervention is expected to enhance the sub-region’s capacity to respond promptly to equipment faults, minimise transmission downtime and improve the overall reliability of the electricity transmission network.
It will also support more efficient bulk power transmission to the load centres of electricity distribution companies (DisCos) serviced by the region, ultimately contributing to improved power supply.
TCN Management, in a statement dated November 4, 2026, said the delivery would strengthen operational capacity and ensure the timely availability of critical maintenance materials whenever required.
